After a successful restructuring, our client needed significant change to set it on a sustainable growth path that would ensure ROI. Find out how we built a response to track key organisational decisions, achieve significant cost reductions and remove inefficiencies from processes.
The senior partner within a consulting firm was seconded to a global logistics operator with the aim of leading the company through a large-scale transformation program. After a successful restructuring, the business needed significant change to set it on a sustainable growth path that would ensure ROI for its new investors.
With a set agenda, clear milestones and ambitious goals, the newly appointed Chief Transformation Officer (CTO) needed support across various key workstreams.
From previous experience, we know that successful large-scale transformation programs require a delicate balance of subject-matter expertise (traditionally from internal stakeholders) and high-calibre problem-solvers who can look at the challenges from a broad angle, bringing a structured approach to the process (ideally impartial, external, skilled Consultants).
Our approach
Transformations are complex and constantly evolving entities. The first step we always take is to have an in-depth conversation to understand the context, drivers and stakeholder relationships within the program to inform our search and truly understand what the consultant would need in terms of experience, skill set and personality fit to deliver output and results. Our goal is to put our client’s needs at the center of our delivery to truly match the role to the person.
Following the conversation and briefing, we knew this would be a very specific requirement that would need a targeted search outside of our network – we needed to find two people with very specific sets of criteria – and find the best consultants who met the requirements.
Impact
Two consultants were successfully immediately incorporated to their relevant work streams for a mid-term project.
By the end of their respective engagements they will have:
Delivered a headcount database to track global employee movement and changes, allowing HR to perform high-impact analysis to inform key decisions
Mapped the 50,000+ organizational structure to view dependencies, bottlenecks and workflows across functions and geographies
Helped the business achieve significant cost reductions by removing inefficiencies and improving processes across the organization
