The requirement

Our client, a leading tech travel company, saw huge potential in their market after COVID and wanted to ensure they were well-positioned for exponential growth.

Freshminds was initially referred to our client via their Private Equity backer to help the CEO find an impressive and impactful Head of Strategy to help deliver their ambitious growth targets for the next 3-5 year period.

They needed exceptional talent to support a product review, international expansion, and other growth strategy initiatives such as M&A activity.

We partnered with Freshminds to find a top-tier strategy leader to join the business at a pivotable point of growth. Freshminds worked diligently to understand our business and the parameters of impact this individual could have, and in turn, guided a constructive interview process to find the right experience and skillset we needed. - CEO

Our approach

After taking time to meet with the team on numerous occasions, Freshminds undertook a retained headhunt aimed at identifying top-tier strategy consultants with the consumer-centric experience and credibility to shoulder a 5-year strategy plan.

Freshminds identified and briefed c.70 potential candidates for the role, narrowing it down to c.20 interviews and submitting a shortlist of c.6 candidates for the position.

This process, from search kick-off to verbal acceptance, took 6-8 weeks.

​The impact

Freshminds worked collaboratively with the CEO to find the right experience and working style that the candidate would bring and identified an ex-OC&C Manager with extensive consumer experience to step into the role.

We subsequently placed an Operations Manager from a boutique consultancy to help drive operational performance across the business. 

Freshminds continue to work with our client as talent acquisition support.
